The Vendor headed off for a two-week holiday, trusting us to get the job done. Despite some challenging weather conditions, we were able to complete the majority of the works before her return, keeping her informed with regular briefings and pictures while she was away.


By the time she returned, the property was transformed and ready for sale.

One of our favourite renovations on this project was creating a new front entrance to the property, as recommended by the real estate agent.

The finished works was a proud moment for us as it not only looked great but also added significant value to the property.

The client loved their new rockface retaining wall, levelled driveway, refreshed staircase, and courtyard glass fence.

We also restored the master bedroom into a true master suite, with a walk-through robe and cosmetic makeover, creating a space that potential buyers could envision themselves living in.

What had been a kids' playroom was transformed into a luxurious master suite complete with a walk-through robe and ensuite.

We knew that this would be a key selling point for potential buyers.

We always love painting walls, ceilings, and woodwork in a light and bright white as it never fails to make a home feel more spacious, luxurious, light, and airy.

The client was delighted with the results of our internal and external works, which, when combined with expert styling and the help of a capable real estate agent, resulted in a great sale outcome with minimal family disruption and carefully contained renovation spend.

Our all-round trades work included;

Painting - Inside and out, including walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, architraves, skirting boards and ensuite vanity plus external verandahs, fences and front entrance stairs & balustrade.
Plastering - Remove old and install new 4-step cornice, repair ceilings and windows.

Carpentry - Build high stepped retaining wall garden bed along driveway and rockface & plant out the garden bed. Build timber fence frame with glass panels along top entertaining area next to rockface dropoff. Design and install white slatted wall panels to create a premium WIR. Plus build a portico roof over the old rear door entry to emphasise it as the new front entry.

Tiling - Re-tile laundry splashback in mosaic tiles. Regrout and new silicone in bathroom areas.

Gardening - Refill and compact gravel to all areas that need to be gravelled. General garden tidy and clean up to front and back yard. Mulch all garden beds and level out for ‘plush’ finish. Install dolomite to uneven section of driveway.

Handyman work - Bog and repair top of entryway steps in prep for painting, install bathroom accessories, install black perspex and sliding door guides to cinema room sliding doors, install new doggie door, re-seal front hallway external door, clean existing floor tile grout, high-pressure clean concrete, pavers and soft rinse down house.

At Get Ready For Sale, we recently had the pleasure of working on this premium two-story character home and we're thrilled to say that our pre-sale improvements took it to the next level, significantly increasing its sale value.

On the expert advice of their agent, the owners decided to accelerate their plans to sell their family home to take advantage of limited stock on the market. Time was of the essence and that's where we came in …we offered our expertise on the pre-sale home improvements that would yield the best sale price and with all the necessary trades under our roof, we seamlessly managed the renovations while the owners still lived in the home and made the entire process quick and stress-free for them.

We knew that this property would sell, but our priority was to present it in a way that would help the owners get the best possible sale price, with minimal spending.

It’s fair to say we nailed it!

We painted out the walls, ceilings, and woodwork to a light and bright white, which immediately made the home feel more spacious and airy.

One of our favourite improvements was painting the steel frame staircase black, transforming it into a magnificent feature of the house.

The beautiful Jarrah floors were refreshed to make them gleam again, and the carpets were replaced, giving the house a fresh, updated feel.

Additionally, we modernised light fittings and made sure that the pool was compliant with South Australian regulations. We also recommended that our clients make a few simple updates to the rear pergola and entertaining area to make it more inviting to potential buyers so they could picture themselves living with it for now and renovating to their tastes down the track.

We also improved many other minor things that made a big difference to the property's desirability.

From the first consult through to works completion (and beyond) we maintained close contact with the property owners ensuring they were informed and supported every step of the way because we understand that renovating and selling a family home can be an emotional and stressful process. We make it our priority to make the process fast-moving and as pleasant as possible for our Vendors.

Of course, it goes without saying we kept the Real Estate Agent well informed of progress so they could closely manage styling, photos, and launch timings, plus be across what we were doing with their Vendor's property!

Our all-round trades work included;

Painting - Inside and out, including walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors, staircase, windows, fascia boards plus balcony railing. Resurface painting of the main bathroom vanity.

Carpentry - Build and install the outdoor swinging gate and rebuild the existing lattice screen.

Electrical work - Installation of new light fittings and outdoor ceiling fan.

Tiling - New silicone in bathroom areas.

Gyprocking - repair, install and flush throughout.

Rendering - Render outside garage wall.

Gardening - tidy garden, present for sale including removal of old foliage.

Handyman work - replace downpipes, gutter repairs, install new drawer tracks, repair and replace architraves and manholes, replace exhaust fans in wet areas, repair flooring, update pond pump, high-pressure cleaning.

Paving - Remove and relay new pavers in the pool area.

Pool compliance - Installation of new pool gate and pool pump. Pool fence rebuild including latticework and perspex.

Other works performed at the property included new blinds, carpet, floor repolishing and a new top roll to the brush fence.

Property appraisal pre renovation $800,000. Sold at Auction with multiple bidders $899,000 November, 2022.

We joined up with Jenny Luxton from Studio 2 Home Styling in collaboration on this Deceased Estate property and together we delivered this stunning transformation!

This dream client stayed in touch updating us on the probate status and did a tremendous job of cleaning out the property so that works could commence.  (We also offer a stress free decease estate clearing service by the way).

Providing an instant contemporary facelift and adding significant street appeal and first impressions, we painted all external red timber trims on the home to charcoal.   This type of re-fresh painting rejuvenates a tired appearance and makes the paint-out of red to charcoal, really pop, without spending a lot of money.

Plus we pressure cleaned the remaining external pergola prior to painting so the cream looks cleaner and therefore didn't need painting, saving money for the vendor.

Painting the front door black, removing the screen door, and re-spraying the back fence in charcoal added a significant luxe up too.

Inside the home, we refreshed the colour scheme and painted all walls, ceilings, cornices, woodwork, doors, and architraves a soft white.  Giving a more spacious feel and the neutral tones enable all potential buyers to imagine themselves living there.

We removed the high ledge on the kitchen benchtop. This visually opened up the space, creating a more spacious streamlined look for the whole family living area.  Plus resurface spray painting the benchtops in epoxy enamel transformed the dark forest green colour of the kitchen and lifted the bathroom cabinets to modernise the bathroom and kitchen on a minimal budget.

Replacing ornate, dark and highly personalised light fittings with sleek streamlined fittings gave a more spacious feel to the property and in a neutralised way so that potential buyers are not polarised by features/fittings that are not to their taste.

Replacing dark and chunky ceiling fans with white streamlined fans (that match the ceiling colour) makes them 'disappear' from the sightline….providing a more spacious feel to bedrooms.  

Plus the simple improvements such as replacing all taps, shower head, towel rails in bathroom, kitchen and laundry to new chrome finishes makes a world of a difference to style a home, without a big spend.

Replacing worn and scuffed carpet/flooring is imperative to adding pre-sale value to a property. Potential buyers will always think they want to replace it  – and they will always think it costs more than it really does and drop their offer price accordingly.

Plus replacing it with a more contemporary and neutral colour such as the mid-grey we did in this property, will also add value to your sale price as people find themselves feeling good in the property and imagining their furniture in it.

Additionally and in this case, the neutral grey tone carpet and soft white rooms provided the perfect backdrop for Jenny, the professional stylist to stage the room to look its absolute best!

When prospective buyers see dirt, mould, botanicals and the like on your paths and driveways … everything, they assume the home is in poor shape and they can’t see past it to the great things about your property.

Wwe refreshed this Glen Osmond home with a soft creamy white paint on the walls and woodwork, and crisp white on the ceilings.

We also replaced the beige carpets with new mid-grey carpets throughout to modernise and create a sense of luxe to this wonderful property.

One of the most impressive features of the home is the new look ensuite. Now a true WOW statement room of the home!

Other makeover works included the laundry space replacing the benchtop, trough and tapware to create a modernised space with an under bench washer and dryer. And we installed new air conditioning vents and downlights throughout.

Spotlight On Bathroom Renovation

- All the plumbing fixtures were kept in the same location - important to save on cost

- The tiles and bathtub were resurfaced in a crisp, fresh white colour

- A custom-built double vanity was installed in treated wood with new white basins

- We created a new gyprock wall where the old vanity enclave used to be, to provide a clean line space

- The shower was replaced with clear glass screen, creating an open walk-in shower

- The window curtain was removed and the walls and woodwork were painted crisp white to match the new gleaming fresh tiles

- All taps, toilet and accessories were replaced

- PowerPoints and lights were replaced – a new ceiling heat light with a fan was installed
